Lille

The 2012 World Computer Bridge Championship will be held from August 17-22 in Lille.

Over the years major bridge programs from all over the world have participated in the annual World Computer Bridge Championships. After its debut in 2000 Jack dominated the championship winning the title in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2012. In 2005 and 2008 Jack won the Round Robin but lost the final to WBridge5.

For the Championship the programs will play a round robin. The programs meet in 32 board matches with a 30 VP international scale. The four top finishers will then play in a knockout format starting with a 64-deal semi-final.

In the first rounds half a Round Robin is played. All contestants will play each other exactly once. Results in the above table are therefor displayed twice and mirrored.

* Due to an error in the round robin total, not noticed until September 6, Micro Bridge was not awarded the correct carryover in the semifinal match. The carryover should have been 12 IMPs rather than 10, and Micro Bridge would have won the semi-final against WBridge5, 163-162. A very unfortunate situation!
